'A DRAGON'S REAL TREASURE'

The once fearsome flame

Flickered and died

As scaly lids lowered

Over tired old eyes

Cheers and drums

Filled the air

The end of a good life

Should always be revered

Deep inside

A fading brain

One line of thought

Did but remain

My legacy wasn’t

All the gold in the world

My legacy was my family

Real wealth to hold

Michael Ashby, Sidmouth
